About the role
The role will encompasses IT infrastructure, IT support, software development and IT Installation. The successful candidate will be the point of contact for all I.T and communications systems onsite.
You will have a degree in a computer science related discipline although candidates without a degree will be considered on merit but will require at least five years’ experience in a related role. All candidates must possess excellent interpersonal skills and must currently be eligible to work in the United Kingdom. No sponsorship opportunities are available for this role.
The role is predominantly Monday to Friday but some flexibility is required from time to time when infrastructure projects and upgrades are required at the weekend to avoid any ‘down time’ during normal operations.
Key duties:
- Networking – Routers/Switches/Firewalls installation, operation and troubleshooting
- Design, configuration and installation of IT solutions
- Assisting co-workers with everyday IT support and in-house training
- Setting up new users and management of security, passwords,
- Server and backup systems
- Assisting with the general maintenance and upgrading of the core I.T infrastructure
- Assist with the delivery of internal IT projects
- Disaster recovery planning and testing
- Workstation/server OS builds
- T and communication system contracts and licences
- GDPR systems and electronic compliance including ad hoc monitoring and CCTV systems
About you:
Technical
- Hands on experience of installing IT hardware and software
- MS Client and Server Operating Systems
- Ethernet, TCP/IP
- VLANS, Wireless Access points, Fibre Network, VoIP, VPNs, Firewall Systems
- Experience specifying, commissioning and fault finding
- Experience of working with internal departments to schedule work and possible down time to minimise disruption to the operation
Person:
- A can do attitude, with the ability to offer up to date and innovative ideas
- Excellent communication skills
- An ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team
- A desire to engage with internal stakeholders and improve users knowledge of I.T systems and protocols
- Analytical problem solving skills
