Job Title: IT Support Hero – Primary Schools

Location: Onsite at Primary Schools in and around Watford

Salary: £20,000 – £25,000 per annum

Job Type: Full time or Term Time only, Permanent

Please Note: Due to the immediate nature of the role the successful candidate will need to already be within Watford or the surrounding area.

This is a successful small Watford-based business looking for an IT Support Hero to join their team. For the last 15 years, they have been supplying Managed Services and IT Support to Primary schools in the area. Expanding through reputation and word of mouth, the Company provides trusted virtual IT management and technical support to the schools’ management teams.

The Role:

As an IT Support Hero, you will be responsible for front line support providing onsite, telephone, email and remote support. You will be based at Primary schools in and around Watford.

Some support tasks can be carried out from home. Each day you will be visiting 2 to 3 schools. Every school has regular weekly visits of approximately 2-3 hours during term time. Large project and installation work is carried out during school holidays.

“Must Have” Practical requirements

  • Own car and full clean driving licence
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Must be able obtain DBS check for all successful applicants
  • You must be able to provide a clear Disqualification Declaration
  • DIY skills a definite plus

Technical requirements

They are looking for someone to be able to make an immediate contribution, ideally with some experience in IT Support, however, initial training will be provided.

Basic requirements:

  • Windows 7/8/10 professional
  • Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019
  • Active Directory and Group Policy
  • General office applications (E.g. MS Office)
  • PC Hardware knowledge (replacing hard drives, power supplies etc.)
  • Printing
  • Networks (wired and wireless)
  • Software installation
  • Interactive whiteboards/projectors
  • Installation, configuration and maintenance of the above

Desirable skills:

  • Scripted installations
  • Visual basic programming
  • Google G-Suite
  • Apple IOS and app management
  • MS Office 365
