Location: London

Salary: £13.00 – £16.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent.

About the role:

Painted LTD is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wood Surface Preparation Specialist to join our dynamic team based in our busy workshop located in Wimbledon. As a specialist in wood and MDF surface preparation, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all wood surfaces are impeccably prepared for the final spray paint application, resulting in flawless finishes. We are looking for a candidate with a deep understanding of different MDF and wood veneers and the expertise to approach them for repairs and painting preparation.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all wood surfaces are meticulously prepared for spray painting. Including inspecting and cleaning.
  • Ability to sand wood surfaces to achieve the desired smoothness for painting.
  • Fill and repair any imperfections, ensuring a seamless appearance.
  • Work closely with the spray-painting team to guarantee quality across all aspects of work.
  • Maintain equipment, ensuring they are clean and in optimal condition.
  • Stay updated with the latest techniques and advancements in wood surface preparation.

Skills Required:

  • At least three years proven experience in wood preparation skills.
  • Knowledge of wood types and each of their unique requirements.
  • Mastery of tools and equipment pertinent to wood preparation.
  • Strong attention to detail ensuring quality.
  • Collaborative team player as well as the ability to work alone.
  • Adherence to workshop safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Hard-working with a hunger to provide the best work possible.
