Chiltern Marble Group are expanding our team. The Company operate a 20,000 square foot manufacturing facility which serves retail customers across London and the South East. We are also the manufacturing arm of one of the foremost tiling and stone contractors in London, and undertake a range of specialist packages for high end hospitality and residential clients. The Group have developed a reputation for quality and service among our clients, due to our exacting standards and singular focus on pleasing our customers.
The role:
We are seeking an experienced template and installer of hard-surfaces to join our team.
The role focuses on templating, fitting and repair of stone and hard surface materials to retail and trade clients.
Chiltern Marble will provide training to develop further skills in a successful candidate. As Chiltern Marble is part of the Chiltern Group of companies there are excellent career prospects for motivated individuals. A Fitter can progress to a Senior Fitter or Factory Supervisor role. Dynamic individuals can further progress to Manufacturing Manager or other management roles and will be provided with training and mentoring if this is the case.
The Candidate:
- The candidate must be proficient in stone and hard surface installation, be able to work with a laser templating device (or similar) and software, and be able to carry out minor repair work.
- The selected candidate should have a number of years’ experience in fitting stone and other hard surfaces.
- Familiarity with handling various stone materials is expected as most jobs will involve the installation of granite, marble or quartz surfaces to kitchen and bathroom areas.
- However, candidates will be expected to be flexible and dynamic in their approach as jobs may also involve commercial fit-outs.
- A background in tiling, plumbing or other technical areas associated with kitchen or bathroom installation will also be advantageous.
- The candidate is also expected to have excellent communication skills and a friendly attitude as the role is customer facing and requires interaction with clients.
- A degree of physical strength and endurance is essential, as manual lifting will be required.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
As a member of the Fitting team, the candidate must be willing to travel to jobs, the majority of which are located across the South East and London
Competencies:
- Full UK driving license (Clean)
- Experience in stone installation (> 3 years)
- Experience with laser templating is preferred – training provided if not
- Current CSCS Card
- Proficiency in minor repairs of stone and hard surfaces
- Strong command of the English language
- Ability to use initiative to solve issues and provide solutions
- Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service
- Self-starter with good time management skills
- Positive team player
