Job Title: Machinist / Diamond Miller / Operator

Carville is a well-established manufacturer and are renowned experts in machining, bonding and finishing engineering grade plastics, especially Acrylic. They supply global, blue-chip customers in industries including life sciences, medical devices and industrial applications with solutions including fluidic manifolds and optical components.
The Role:
We are looking someone with some general machining experience to be trained as a Diamond Miller and other general machining disciplines. The operator will have the opportunity to grow in the company through training and experience. Candidates need to be able to work on their own as well as interacting with other machinists, supervisors, and the quality team. Full training on Diamond Milling will be provided.
Key Responsibilities for operator:
- Operation of machinery including diamond milling.
- Liaise with Shop Floor Manager on timescales and priorities
- Ensure consistent quality of parts produced by detailed checking against drawings
- Ensure all work and raw materials in your area are correctly identified with the relevant paperwork
- Work with QA personnel on addressing any issues and supporting continuous improvement actions.
The Candidate:
The role is suitable for someone with experience of operating machinery in a factory environment with some general mechanical/technical skills. Experience working with tight tolerances would be advantage.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Able to read 2D technical drawings with tolerances and follow clear instructions
- Experience operating manual and automatic machinery.
- Able to use manual measuring equipment
- Willingness to learn and progress
Nice to have Experience:
- Diamond Milling
- Manual or CNC milling machining
- Turning
