Job Title: Male Youth Worker

Location: Putney and Roehampton

Salary: £13.15 per hour

Job Type: Part Time, Up To 16 hours Per Week

The Role:

Reporting to the Lead Youth Worker, this role will involve supporting young people as they shape their identities and voice, helping them to grow in confidence, develop their social skills, self-awareness and self-management.

Regenerate’s mission is to inspire and support young people by building strong, lasting relationships and creating life changing opportunities; helping them grow in confidence, make the best of their lives and impact the world for good.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and delivery of youth work sessions, and deliver up to three evening (3-6:30pm) youth work sessions a week
  • Support other activities or trips that take place during school holidays and occasional weekends
  • Proactively engage young people and build positive relationships with them, their families and the local community
  • Motivate young people to get involved in shaping a programme of activities
  • Take responsibility to effectively manage challenging behaviour
  • Assist the youth service lead in collating monitoring and evaluation information
  • Attend and input into youth work team meetings
  • Provide community mentoring sessions should the need arise (necessary training will be provided)
  • Adhere to Regenerate’s code of conduct, policies, and procedures when working with young people

The Candidate:

You will have the following key knowledge and experience:

  • Knowledge of youth work practice and an understanding of the issues young people face today (plus knowledge of the community Regenerate works within is desirable)
  • Understanding of and experience in dealing with safeguarding issues
  • A qualification in youth work, social care or related subjects
