Job Title: Management Accountant / Analyst (Part Qualified)

Location: Basildon, Essex

Salary: £32,000 – £37,000 per annum

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

To continue the success of sustaining excellence throughout our labs, we are now looking for a Management Accountant/ Analyst to join our diverse team. This is an excellent opportunity for those who wish to develop their skills and experience in a supportive environment. The position is based at our central hub in Basildon.

About the Role:

The purpose of the role is to assist with the execution of the daily finance functions and controls, reconciliation and verification of financial data and to support the Organisation as part of the Finance Team under the supervision of the Financial Controller.

Other Duties Include:

  • Prepare and Analyse Monthly Management Accounts, including:
  • Detailed Revenue & Margin Analysis
  • Cost, variance & Detailed Trend analysis
  • Operating Overheads Analysis
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations and reviews
  • Month end journals, and assist with the Month end Close process
  • Create Sales invoicing and manage credit control
  • Maintaining the Fixed Assets register, Prepayments schedule and Lease schedules
  • Detailed Departmental analysis and Review with Operations Managers
  • Liaise with suppliers and outsourced AP agency
  • General office administration tasks
  • Assist with statutory audit requirements as required

About you:

Essential Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Part Qualified /QBE Accountant – ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
  • Highly organised with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast moving environment
  • Very good numeracy and, computer literacy to an advanced standard in excel and general standard in Microsoft Office packages.
  • A results driven individual with the confidence to interact positively with non-finance and senior management
  • Good report writing and communication skills demonstrating the ability to explain complex, technical information to non-financial staff.
  • Good knowledge of accounting standards
  • Good knowledge of book-keeping

Desirable

  • Healthcare sector experience
  • Demonstrable understanding of, and ability to create, budgets and business cases
  • Able to understand and create cash flow projections and statements
  • Basic knowledge of stock records and systems
  • Evidence of agreeing and achieving realistic and relevant objectives demonstrating a focused / goal orientated approach
  • Good knowledge of how a business operates
  • Basic knowledge of auditing standards
  • Basic knowledge of CT, VAT, PAYE
  • SAGE 200 user
