Job title: Manufacturing Cell Leader

Location: Salisbury

Salary: £36,000 early shift or £36,000 plus 20% shift premium late shift

Job Type: This role will be worked over a 4 days with two shift patterns available either:

6:00-16:30 Monday – Thursday or 14:00-00:30 Monday – Thursday

The role:

The Manufacturing Cell Leader will be required to part of the manufacturing line management, working with other team members to ensure Safety, Quality, Delivery and Environmental targets are achieved for your respective areas.

The responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):

  • Produce shift / daily / weekly / monthly reports highlighting issues and successes, where required.
  • Carry out Audits on each building/bay under their Team’s control at least once per month. Record all findings and take appropriate action to ensure out of line situations are corrected in a timely fashion. Issue reports and actions to the Ops Management.
  • Ensure plans developed and implemented so department achieves production plans and KPIs (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, and Environment).
  • Monitor both labour and machine efficiency to ensure costs and lead-time targets are met. Take appropriate action to correct out of line performance and/or report to the Line Management.
  • Ensure department works with support teams to ensure accurate communication / fulfilment of customer requirements (e.g. Planning / Procurement / Sales).
  • Recommend and implement, following approval, improvements to the sections’ organisation, work methods and processes to achieve gains in safety, quality and productivity.
  • Lead and drive continuous improvement activities e.g. Lean Conversion events and statistical methods in production/problem solving.
  • Work closely with Production Engineering and Maintenance departments to ensure optimal running of manufacturing functions and implementation of improvements to processes/equipment etc.
  • Ensure all employees are inducted and trained by appropriate means/resources to achieve competency in Safety, Quality and Productivity.
  • Communicate with operators regarding company issues using the Team Brief and toolkit process.
  • Responsible for compliance with all company Health and Safety procedures thus ensuring the health safety and welfare of all persons in their charge and others who may be affected by their activities for which they are responsible, and to demonstrate a commitment to health and safety. To follow the expected behaviours, as laid down in the CCM Behavioural Competence Matrix.

Manufacturing Specification:

  • Right to live and work in the UK, with ability to obtain SC level clearance
  • Experience of supervision
  • Experience of Lean Techniques
  • Proficient in IT
  • Experience of dealing with people issues
  • Basic understanding of Process Instructions, Risk Assessments, COSHH and Manual Handling
