Job title: Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Salisbury

Salary: up to £45,000 per annum.

Job Type: This role will be worked over a 4.5 day week; Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 16:45 and Friday 08:00 – 12:30. Flexibility in this role is critical to the success of supporting the team.

The role:

The Manufacturing Engineer / Process Engineer will be responsible for defining all aspects of the production method including defining machining, equipment, work instructions, drawings and tools as required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver all elements required for successful New Product introduction and method changes, ensuring safe working procedures.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Ensure that products meet the requirements of customers, quality standards and external stakeholders.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes and working practices and take responsibility for implementing improvement actions.
  • Identify and document process instructions.
  • Implement and carry out initial running of new processes.
  • Deliver rapid problem solving to minimise the impact of product non-conformance.
  • Take the lead in Process Management of Change (MoC) board as necessary, to enable amendment to tooling, equipment and work instructions accordingly.
  • Support in the training of production personnel in the use of equipment, tooling and processes.
  • Project manage new and improved processes.

Manufacturing Engineer / Process Engineer Person Specification:

  • Right to live and work in the UK, with ability to obtain SC level clearance (5 years British residency necessary)
  • Level 4 NVQ in engineering discipline or technical area
  • Knowledge of Production Engineering either from Defence or Aerospace (preferred), high tech manufacturing or precision engineering
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of new product introduction
  • Ability to compile risk assessments and report writing
  • Experience of working on Hazops, desirable
  • Proficient in MS Office
