Job Title: Manufacturing Implant Technician – Polisher

Metal polisher required to work in manually skilled workshop environment, Linishing and polishing Orthopaedic Medical implants.
With the production of medical implants such as replacement knee joint parts, you would be working in a workshop with various manually operated machines and equipment to turn metal cast components to a highly polished surface and using blasting cabinets to grit blast areas of the components.

- Digital vernier’s
- Workshop computer stations
- Polishing spindles and linishing machines
- Extraction systems
- Blasting cabinets
- Ultrasonic cleaning baths
- Laser etching machine
- 3 axis CNC Mill (only applies to applicants with CNC skills)
- 5 axis CNC grinder (only applies to applicants with CNC skills)
The ideal candidate would have the following key skills:
- Excellent attention to detail to identify and correct visible flaws to polished surface
- Excellent dexterity, to articulate components during the linishing and polishing processes. (While this is a manual, labour-intensive job, the Implant parts are not heavy or bulky items, so this is unlike polishing heavy metal components)
- Capable of using digital measuring equipment
- CNC skills an advantage but not essential
- Basic PC skills (to operate machinery and access data, minimal time spent on computers on a day-to-day basis.
- Comfortable working in a workshop environment
- Good communication and team ethics
