Job Title: Mechanical Fitter

Location: Farnworth, Bolton, BL4 0AN

Salary: £25,000 – £29,000 Per annum (Depending on Experience)

Job Type: Full time, Permanent

Working Hours: 38 hours per week (Mon to Thurs 7.30 to 4.00 and Friday 7.30 to 12.50)

Based in Greater Manchester, Heatrod Elements are the UK’s leading manufacturer of heating elements and associated process heating equipment required for industrial heating applications.

About the Role:

We are expanding our team and are looking for a Mechanical Fitter to join our industrial projects team manufacturing a wide range of our products to a high standard.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and fit a range of products to strict procedures and requirements
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, large fixtures and precision measuring equipment
  • In-process testing of sub-assemblies
  • Ensure traceability of parts and equipment throughout the assembly process
  • Create and maintain a team focused work environment
  • Seek out, identify and participate in Continuous Improvement opportunities
  • Responsible for general housekeeping and cleanliness of working area
  • Maintain a team focused work environment
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures
  • Competent in Health & Safety
  • Support “Best Practices” to achieve company goals for safety, delivery, cost and quality

About you:

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Well Organised, experience of working to tight deadlines
  • Demonstrate a good knowledge in own area of expertise
  • Able to manage multiple priorities with a bias towards action and speed
  • Bases decisions on fact and adopts a disciplined approach
  • Actively engages in discussions and openly supports team decisions
  • Continuous improvement experience
  • Flexible and adaptable

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of welding or brazing
  • Pressure testing experience
  • Knowledge/Practical Experience of electrical wiring/control panels

Education / Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in assembly/fitting
  • Relevant mechanical qualifications ideal but not essential
