About us:

Together for Short Lives is the UK charity to make sure the 99,000 seriously ill children and their families can make the most of every moment they have together – whether that’s for years, months or only hours.

We work with families and the brilliant people and services that support them – in hospitals, in children’s hospices and in the community – to ensure that children and families get the support they need.

About the role:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated communications professional to join us as Media and Campaigns Manager for Together for Short Lives, the UK’s leading charity for Children’s Palliative Care. With experience in developing and delivering campaigns and a strong track record in media relations, you will have the chance to make a real difference to the lives of families with seriously ill children.

By bringing compelling stories from families and professionals to a wide audience, your work will help us to secure vital funds and influence policy. A natural collaborator, you will work with colleagues across the charity to develop and deliver creative, integrated campaigns that cut through the noise and reach new audiences.

You will lead our media strategy to increase Together for Short Lives’ reputation as the UK’s leading charity for children’s palliative care. You will use your persuasive approach to pitch stories to the media in a way which is compelling, authentic and sensitive – always mindful of the potential impact on families of children whose lives are likely to be short.

About you:

Our ideal candidate is a creative thinker and media expert, who is passionate about delivering campaigns that make a difference and who thrives on exploring new approaches to solve complex problems. A strong communicator, both verbally and in writing, your campaigns and media work will engage a wide range of individuals and external audiences.

You can work flexibly, located at our central Bristol office or in a hybrid arrangement.
