Responsibilities:
The primary goal of the Network support specialists is to support, maintain and manage the bank’s networks and ensure they function efficiently by collecting performance data, monitoring network security, troubleshooting issues, anticipating problems, and performing routine maintenance subject to change approval. You will maintain software, hardware, and active devices (firewall, router, switch, cabling etc.) and monitor IT infrastructure and systems (server, workstation, operating system, application, mobile device, printer etc. for performance, glitches or faults.
You will analyse technical problems and seek to develop workable solutions.
You will investigate and troubleshoot performance issues within the system, network and application, including availability, throughput and latency.
The job holder will be expected to provide support in all the areas described in the Job Description.
Task & Activities whilst providing adequate support to the bank’s infrastructure, system and network.
Tasks & Activities:
- Develop the standards-based high-level design and operational documents for implementing technical solutions and control for network services-led infrastructure projects.
- Participate and support the system backup, archiving and recovery, business continuity process, procedure and documentation in both the production site and the disaster recovery site.
- Manage, optimise and support ITSM and Security tools (SolarWinds SIEM, SESC, Forescout, etc.), and techniques to improve IT networks, Services, Systems, Procedures and Processes.
- Escalate security, system and network issues to the HoDIT as necessary.
- Performing diagnostic tests and maintenance on the network, network devices, servers, workstations, and developing processes and procedures documents
- Manage, optimise and maintain all internal tools/solutions to provide the best performance and return on investment
- Installing, updating, and configuring servers and networking devices; and monitoring server and network capacity and performance to ensure availability, security and recovery.
- Any other duties that may be assigned by the HoDIT and CIO.
Knowledge & Experience required:
- Certified CompTIA, Microsoft, or Cisco network professional preferred.
- A minimum of two years of experience as a network specialist.
- Extensive knowledge of network connectivity, technologies, protocols, and security.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information science, or similar.
