Job Title: Nursery Practitioner

Location: Kingston upon Thames, London

Salary: Up to £24,000 per year

Job type: Full time / Full time hours over 4 days / Part Time 2-3 days per week welcomed.

We are family owned Nursery in East Molesey, Surrey with an OFSTED outstanding Nursery School delivery of the highest standard of professionalism and care to children aged 3 months to 5 years, located just 10 minutes from Hampton Court Station. Our Christian foundation drives our commitment to offering a nurturing and inclusive working environment for our staff to thrive and grow in. In turn, our team champions a Froebelian approach to everyday practice, enriching young children with a stimulating environment including daily outings and nature walks in the local area. As an independently owned nursery, we ensure we constantly provide our children with new wonderful natural and open ended resources.

Purpose of the Role:

Our supportive management team are seeking passionate individuals to join Sapphires Nursery School. In this role, you will nurture, develop and care for children across 3 age group rooms for 51 weeks of the year. The right candidate will provide all aspects of care and support each day, and bring with them fresh ideas on how to stimulate children through open ended play. A full time week includes 40 – 41 hours in our rooms with the children.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the room leader in providing rich learning opportunities for all children.
  • Taking responsibility for ‘Key Children’ ensuring their welfare and learning needs are met at all times.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships and communications with parents to facilitate day-to-day caring needs.
  • Taking an active involvement with additional activities such as parent’s evenings, open days, training and staff meetings.
  • Taking an active part in the daily routines within the nursery, for example: preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment etc.
  • Taking opportunities to introduce the children to new learning experiences wherever possible.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience with working in an Early Years setting, or with young children.
  • A qualification in Early Years practice, Level 3 or above.
  • A proactive approach to building strong working relationships with colleagues and parents.
  • Great motivation and a positive attitude.
  • A vibrant, fun personality with a flexible and calm approach.
  • The drive to enrich the children’s’ experience though new play ideas.
