Job Title: Nursery School Chef

Location: Trinity Church Hall, Beaumont Road, London, SW19 6SP

Salary: £33,000 basic salary + £3,000 performance related bonus = £36,000

Job type: 8am-5pm, 5 days per week

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for the preparation and cooking of mid-morning snack, lunch and tea for all children – Maximum of 81 children under the age of 5 but this changes each day – 60 – 81 children.
  • Preparation of fruit and breakfast food for next day
  • Preparing and cooking of alternative meals for children with special dietary needs and baby weaning as directed by staff and Senior Managers
  • Checking that all allergies are catered for correctly and that all food bought in is double checked every time for nuts and other ingredients
  • Filling out COSH forms correctly for any children with serious allergies before food is served
  • Help with the serving of meals
  • Clearing and cleaning of pots and cooking utensils
  • Maintain the kitchen and food hygiene as well as health and safety of the kitchen
  • Taking responsibility of equipment e.g. cooker, extractor fan and maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout
  • To maintain adequate stores and food stuffs in appropriate storage conditions and rotation
  • To order all food and maintain monthly records for stocktaking purposes of all food
  • Supporting the nursery staff with cookery lessons for the children
  • Prepare seasonal afternoon tea for the Summer Show and Carol Concerts and picnic teas and party teas as requested
  • Menu planning alongside the Senior Management Team

Candidates will be asked to come into the school for a Trial day before being asked to join full time.
