About the role:

Ekco recently acquired Ward Solutions a significant cyber security business of circa 80 Cyber professionals based out of Dublin Ireland. We now have a need to recruit in country Sales Engineers (pre-sales engineers) in our local markets namely the UK and Holland. If you have experience in technical pre-sales, bid writing B2B at enterprise level and prior experience in technology/cyber security we want to talk to you!

You will spend most of your time working with existing customers, our sales team and our solution design teams exploring new ways to better serve our customer’s needs. Partnering with our engineers and consultants you will help determine, qualify, design, and propose our solutions to our clients. You will help coordinate and liaise with our sales team and other members of the solution design team to coordinate the solution design queue, ensuring that we produce high quality, commercially viable customer proposals and tenders to address their needs.

Day to day your role will involve

  • Supporting our business development mangers to win to new Security Solutions business
  • Engaging directly with our customers across the local market to capture their Security requirements.
  • Subject Matter Expert Consultancy for bid Solutions covering our Security propositions
  • Creating technical documents to support the sales and engineering process
  • Training and certifying on core technical security propositions

Key Responsibilities

  • Create High Level Design documentation to support the sales engagement process
  • Create BoMs and commercial templates to support the business development managers in providing an accurate proposal to a customer
  • Deciding on the design scope and design of a complex component of the security platform and customer solution and estimating the time and type of resource needed
  • Conduct on site demonstrations of our security portfolio as part of the sales engagement
  • Upon receipt of order prepare Low-Level Design documentation to support the delivery process and onboarding engineering teams
  • Collaborating on overall client solution designs that may involve multiple specialist components across network and cloud based infrastructure subject matter experts
  • Ensure compliance with security and contractual obligations
  • Provide onsite service management reviews with our wider technical team for our clients during the project delivery cycle and through normal ongoing business operations
  • React and escalate internally priority operational faults as required

Essential Skills / Experience:

  • 3rd level primary degree in engineering or science related discipline
  • 2+ years of practitioner experience in some of the following:
    • Security consultancy
    • Cyber testing
    • Security architecture and ISMS framework and principles
    • Engineering experience in design and implementation of security technologies such as:
      • Firewalls,
      • Application, Web and email security gateways, IPS/IDS
      • Endpoint security solutions
      • Security monitoring and incident response solutions such as SIEM
      • IBM Q Radar and MS Sentinel are currently our managed SIEM solution
  • Cloud security solutions (in-cloud and from-cloud)
  • 2 + years of experience customer needs discovery and analysis, bid, proposal and tender writing
  • Exceptional commercial and technical writing and MS office suite skills
  • That innate ability to discover customer needs, match solutions to these needs, present and propose these solutions to our customers.
  • Ability to manage and meet customer and sales team member’s expectations
  • Excellent time management and productivity skills – to ensure you can determine priorities, delegate overload and be highly productive in re-use of templates, collateral etc
  • ITIL (very beneficial)
  • Ability to write process and procedure documents or review such documents provided by others.
  • Knowledge and understanding of industry trends / new technologies for infrastructure support
