Job Title: Production Supervisor
Location: Marlow
Salary: £21,000-£22,000 p.a. depending on experience
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Purpose of the Role:
To control the flow of work through the Department to meet client deadlines, maximising production staff utilisation and minimising production and employee costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- To assist and cover for the Warehouse Manager
- To assist the Production Manager, in managing fulfilment and pick & pack jobs, to assist in producing an operating cost budget to manage the total production function
- To understand the capabilities of all production staff within their area of responsibility
- To implement the production schedule and control system to optimise the lowest cost use of the Company’s total production capabilities to meet client deadlines
- To ensure production output meets the production schedule requirements
- To immediately, inform the Production Manager if client timescales are unlikely to be met, and provide revised schedules
- To assist the Production Manager, understand the capabilities of individual production employees, to identify and organise appropriate training, and to ensure minimum manning levels consistent with safety and quality
- To support the Production Manager in ensuring the ongoing availability of all production facilities, organising appropriate maintenance and servicing schedules of any equipment and the availability of key spare parts
- To seek to improve all production activities and discuss ideas for improvement with the Production Manager
- To be responsible for all the Company health and safety issues when the Production Manager is off site and for the maintenance of first aid provision and adequate fire prevention and evacuation procedures for the total site
- To immediately inform Account Management if materials supplied by the client are unlikely to be available at the time required by production, or are of inadequate quality
- To retain an awareness of the improvements and changes associated with the equipment, materials and services purchased by the Company and, where appropriate, put forward recommendations for incorporation into the Company’s operations
- To inform the Production Manager of any ideas to improve the efficiency of the Company’s operations
- To treat all client data as strictly confidential and not pass to third parties without specific authorisation from the General Manager
- To contribute to, and work within a healthy and safe working environment in Company premises, and at all times whilst on Company business
- At the request of Senior Managers to carry out any other functions that may be required to assist in the efficient operation of the Company, and inform the Production Manager of any areas of responsibility which are not likely to be fulfilled
Key Requirement:
- Have a Fork Lift/Reach Truck licence
- Have experience of working within a hand fulfilment, pick & pack and hand mailing operation
