Job Title: Joinery Workshop Manager

Location: London

Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per year (dependent on experience)

Job Type: Full-time, permanent. Monday – Friday.

Wildercreative are a bespoke joinery company based in Leyton, East London. For over 20 years we have been designing and making bespoke furniture and fitted joinery for both high-end residential and commercial markets. We work with architects, interior designers, main contractors and private clients. We handle all aspects of projects from initial enquiry through to the design process and into production, site installation and final sign-off.

About the role:

We are searching for a Joinery Workshop Manager to manage the planning, coordination and control of our busy joinery workshop. You will oversee the general production process, draw up production schedules and be involved with pre-production requirements ensuring the whole process is cost-effective. As soon as a project becomes live, the Joinery Workshop Manager will manage communications between internal and external stakeholders, other site sub-contractors and suppliers.

Responsibilities:

  • Confident in being the sole point of contact for the joinery and workshop team, and facilitating information being passed from our studio to workshop
  • Supervise and motivate the joinery/production team
  • Ensure ordering and other similar processes are run smoothly
  • Ensure project deadlines are on-track and met at high quality
  • Review staff performance and monitor work-levels
  • General joinery work including, cutting, plaining, shaping and edging a range of materials daily
  • Interpret a design pack, through to realising the final product
  • Ensure all health & safety codes are met daily in the workshop
  • Work with the team throughout different areas of the workshop when required

Skills Required:

  • Minimum 3 years joinery experience
  • Minimum 2 years management experience
  • Extremely strong understanding of how bespoke furniture is made
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong production management and planning experience
  • Organisation, flexibility and time management are crucial along with the ability to multi-task, prioritise and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong computer skills
  • Competent in all aspects of Microsoft Office products
  • Full, clean UK driving license
  • UK work authorisation
