The Role:

You will be joining an enthusiastic team of engineers delivering full time undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Located in the Faculty of Science and Engineering at our Chelmsford campus. We are forward-looking and enthusiastic, with a vision that combines commitment to a strong and active research culture with excellence in learning and teaching. We are seeking a mechanical engineering professional skills tutor to deliver both theory and practical workshop sessions to our students.

You will have an opportunity to contribute to mechanical engineering teaching with a strong emphasis on preparing and delivering practical and laboratory based mechanical engineering topics in our mechanical engineering workshop using precision engineering tools and equipment. You will also demonstrate the ability and desire to contribute to wider School activities such as research projects and other practical learning activities. Successful applicants will be teaching both theory and practical sessions to engineers and across the broad area of Engineering and the Built Environment.

Candidate Requirements:

You will have a mechanical engineering or related degree and be familiar with the operation of engineering workshop tools and equipment. You will have experience working as or teaching a mechanical engineering topic, and you will have the ability to develop and publish online support material. You will have a committed and flexible approach, good interpersonal and negotiating skills, and will be committed to your own continuous personal and professional development.
