Who We Are:

Assistive Solutions is a service and equipment provider working with the Disabled Students’ Allowances in delivering high quality services to disabled students within higher education. The upcoming role is situated within the ergonomic service, which manages around 3,000 students per year.

The ergonomic team oversees ergonomic assessments, report writing, and quote generating for eligible students. Quality assurance is a high priority within the service, and so we are looking for a skilled proofreader to ensure the quality of reports and quotes are maintained at a high standard when submitting to the funding body.

About the role:

We are looking for a skilled and competent proofreader to join our team. The suitable candidate will have relevant experience in proofreading and editing bodies of text to a high standard, ideally in a professional setting.

Key Responsibilities:

The main aspect of this role is to maintain high quality of report submissions for review by government funding bodies.

This would include:

  • Proofreading report content, grammar, language, spelling, and syntax
  • Amending and editing reports as you see fit
  • Ensuring assessors are submitting reports in a timely manner
  • Generating quotes for reports using quotes system
  • Collaborating on training workshops for best report writing practice
  • Administrative duties such as organising and filing

About you:

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of proofreading and editing documents at a professional level, with particular regard to reports.

Skills required:

  • Very good attention to detail
  • Experience of writing, proofreading, and editing copy or reports
  • Full working proficiency in the English language
  • Ability to proofread text objectively and factually
  • Ability to manage own workload
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Able to meet deadlines punctually and efficiently
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • A degree with a minimum of a 2:1 grade
  • Full Microsoft Word proficiency
