Job Title: Public Affairs Manager

Location: Kempston, Bedfordshire

Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 depending on experience

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Operating in a changing and challenging market, The Company is the professional and representative association for Chartered Legal Executive lawyers, and other legal practitioners and paralegals. It regulates all its members in the public interest.

They provide education, training and the development of skills for its members, and those who wish to become more proficient and knowledgeable in the law. Their members are partners in law firms and advocates and may apply for judicial appointment. Their role is to enhance the role and standing of Chartered Legal Executives and all their members within the legal profession.

The Role:

They have an exciting opportunity for a Public Affairs Manager to join our busy, friendly team, leading their public affairs agenda. Supporting their Director of Policy and Governance and working with Communication, Business Development and policy teams across our business, the role will play an integral part of their evolving External Relations Strategy.

About you:

  • Will have proven experience of working in public affairs
  • Thorough knowledge of the UK political system and parliamentary procedure
  • Will be a seasoned developer of relationships with political and professional decision- makers
  • Good personal judgement, gravitas, confidence and influencing skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail able to summarise complex information swiftly and accurately for a variety of audiences
  • Shaping the design of related communications and providing this to a range of different audiences
