Job Title: Purchasing and Planning Assistant

Location: Farnworth, Bolton, BL4 0AN

Salary: £22,000 – £25,000 Per annum (Depending on Experience)

Job Type: Full time, Permanent

Working Hours: 38 hours per week (Mon to Thurs 7:30 to 16:00 and Friday 7:30 to 12:50)

Based in Greater Manchester, Heatrod Elements are the UK’s leading manufacturer of heating elements and associated process heating equipment required for industrial heating applications.

About the Role:

We are looking to recruit a Purchasing and Planning assistant to support the supply chain function from procuring raw materials to planning work into the production team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support in the issuing of production plans on a day-to-day basis
  • Communicating any changes to production plans across key stakeholders
  • Regularly check and maintain finished stock position where relevant.
  • Review, analyse and adapt customer forecasts.
  • Attending daily and weekly production meetings, liaising with key stakeholders from across internal business functions
  • Preparing, issuing, maintaining and tracking purchase orders according to company purchasing policies and procedures
  • Confirm purchase orders with vendors including delivery date, quantity, etc.
  • Calculate packaging and raw material requirements from MRP system and production plans and place orders with suppliers.
  • Work pro-actively to avoid potential stock-outs due to supplier delivery delay and expedite orders when required.
  • Ensure material supply levels are within agreed min/max levels as to meet the daily production requirements.
  • React to issues on a daily basis created both internally and from suppliers.

About you:

  • Attention to detail, high levels of accuracy and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong people and communication skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and of responsibility
  • Must be a team player and demonstrate experience working in a cross functional team environment.
  • Perform well under pressure.
  • Must have advanced Microsoft Office Excel skills.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Axapta/Epicor experience is desirable.
