Job Title: Purchasing Manager

King Lifting is a growing and ambitious family business based in Avonmouth, Bristol, providing mobile crane hire and plant/machinery movement from depots across the south of England. We are proud of our name and reputation within the industry.
We are currently seeking an experienced and results driven Purchasing Manager to be based at our Head Office in Avonmouth. The role will provide support to every sector of our business and report direct to the Finance Director.
The role:
This is a standalone role and offers a great opportunity for the right person to make their mark with oodles of autonomy within a growing business. The ideal candidate will be professional, confident and a motivated self-starter who can consistently produce results with minimal direction.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Negotiate cost, delivery, and payment terms with current suppliers
- Purchasing fleet and fuel
- Identify and source new potential suppliers
- Raise purchase orders and execute through to completion
- Analyse supply failure and implement immediate corrective actions
- Carry out supplier performance reviews
- Provide monthly reports and statistics to the Senior Management Team
Experience/skills required:
- A minimum of 2 years’ supply chain and purchasing experience.
- Previous experience of working in purchasing within the crane or plant hire industry would be an advantage.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with proactive approach to problem solving
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Process improvement experience
