Job Title: QEHS Director

Location: Avonmouth with regular travel to other Company and customer sites

Salary: CIRCA £60,000 + Company Car

We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our senior management team to provide strategic and day to day leadership in Health, Safety Quality and Environmental compliance and good practice.

The ideal candidate will have desire, energy, and enthusiasm to drive forward and develop the QEHS department whilst possessing the relevant and appropriate QEHS experience and qualifications as detailed below.

With direct access to the ‘main board’, you will have ample opportunities to implement positive change throughout King Lifting. You will have the ability to engage at all levels effectively and appropriately for an improved outcome.

Your strategic creativity, input and involvement is as critical as your ability to ‘roll up your sleeves’ and get stuck in at both office and field level. You will be delivery focused with excellent attention to detail and have the ability to work to short deadlines and thrive under pressure.

General responsibilities will include:

  • Prioritising, promoting and leading Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental compliance and good practice throughout the Company
  • To regularly review the overall Health & Safety Policies, risk controls and supporting documentation including drafting any new polices where deemed necessary.
  • To devise, develop and monitor effective Risk Assessment management strategies and make recommendations
  • To investigate, understand and complete accident investigation report, itemising root cause and safety control measures to be implemented to reduce reoccurrence
  • Keep senior management abreast of changes in Health & Safety legislation and codes of practice and action accordingly.
  • To provide monthly board pack including overview of incident/accidents along with any trends
  • To manage and support our Compliance Officer in obtaining and retaining our current accreditations and any further certifications required.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications required:

  • Valid qualification in occupational Health & Safety. NEBOSH diploma or equivalent as a minimum.
  • A ‘boots on the ground’ approach
  • Demonstrable knowledge and working experience within either crane/plant/construction industries
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and IT skills
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills
