Job Title: Quality Assurance Inspector

Location: High Post, Salisbury

Salary: £26,000-£32,000

Job Type: Permanent/Full-time, worked over a 4.5 day week; Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 16:45 and Friday 08:00 – 12:30. Flexibility is required to support the needs of the business.

The Role:

The Quality Assurance Inspector will manage and control the day to day activities regarding goods inwards inspection. You will ensure goods inwards checks are conducted and maintained to the appropriate level and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To manage and control the day to day activities regarding goods inwards inspection
  • Ensure goods inwards checks are conducted to the appropriate level and accuracy
  • Ensure accurate records are maintained for goods inwards
  • Provide visibility of any issues found at incoming goods to support business continuity and planning
  • To provide support for the engineering and production activities of the Quality department for investigation and improvement activities. This includes in-process inspection, data gathering, analysis and reporting
  • Publish and monitor agreed KPI’s for incoming goods to ensure visibility throughout the business and to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Act as support to the Calibration Technician with regard to calibration Activities
  • Ensure procedures and documentation regarding goods inwards are up-to-date and fit-for purpose

The Candidate:

  • Right to live and work in the UK, with ability to obtain SC level clearance (5 years British residency necessary)
  • Level 3 NVQ in a technical or engineering discipline
  • Clean full driving licence
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings to support quality inspection
  • Working knowledge of component inspection techniques and equipment
  • Experience of carrying out in-process inspection and testing
  • Knowledge of calibration activities
  • Experience with ISO9001:2008, TS16949 or similar
  • Awareness of internal auditing
  • Proficient in MS Office
