Job Title: Quality Engineer

Location: Salisbury

Salary: £38,000- £42,000 per annum

Job type: Full Time, will be worked over a 4.5 day week; Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 16:45 and Friday 08:00 – 12:30. Flexibility in this role is critical to the success of supporting the team. In return, there will be an opportunity to sometimes work from home.

Must hold sole British citizenship and you must have continually resided in the UK for a minimum of 5 years.

The role:

You will support Production with quality issues that arise during manufacture. You will also drive improvements in the quality of products and will increase process capability. You will assist in gathering Key Performance Indicators to measure this.

You will be familiar with using various quality tools and techniques, (such as 8D, Measurements Systems Analysis, pFMEA, root cause analysis, Control Plans) to improve products and processes across the site. Though you may not have worked with these kinds of products before, you will have a good understanding of mechanical engineering.

This role is not suitable for Software Engineers.

The Candidate:

  • Right to live and work in the UK, with ability to obtain SC level clearance
  • Must have continually resided in the UK for a minimum of 5 years
  • HNC or BTEC level 5 equivalent in an engineering related discipline
  • ISO9001:2015, TS16949 or similar experience
  • Proficient in MS Office

Knowledge/Experience Required:

  • ISO9001:2015, TS16949 or similar experience
  • Experience of Supplier Development / SQA
  • Experience of dealing with customers
  • Experience of internal auditing.
  • Knowledge of 5S
  • Knowledge of Zero Defects Methodology and NPP process experience
  • Knowledge Component Inspection Techniques
  • Knowledge of Statistical Analysis / Software experience (Minitab)

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Work to develop manufacturing Process Controls and documentation.
  • Support Design FMEAs, facilitate Process FMEAs and generate Process Control Plans.
  • Support Manufacturing in resolving quality issues and identifying root cause.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement activities and preventive control measures to ensure process controls are optimised.
  • Investigate customer complaints and write complaint reports.
  • Carry out or review risk assessments and support the departmental Safety targets.
