Job Title: Quality Manager

Location: Maidstone

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 (DOE)

Job Type: Permanent, full time

CTS (Construction Testing Solutions), is a leading provider of on-site and laboratory testing services. Since inception, we have established a reputation for excellence in servicing the UK construction, quarry products and civil engineering industries.

About the role:

As Quality Manager, you’ll be involved with directing the planning, coordination and control of all business accreditation, quality and training activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Authorise, update, administer, compile and review Quality policy and procedures.
  • Review and audit quality procedures annually or earlier if necessary.
  • Checking compliance with UKAS procedures in Laboratory. To provide clients with the best possible standards of service and quality at all times.
  • To ensure and maintain company quality standards.
  • To ensure proper training for the workforce.
  • Ensuring tests and calibrations are carried out in accordance with ISO 17025 requirements.
  • Ensuring laboratory records are in order.
  • To plan and organise laboratory and site test/system audits.
  • Check and update all technical documents used by the laboratory.
  • To ensure labelling of equipment and samples are correctly maintained and to ensure ‘out of calibration’ labels are applied, and relevant equipment taken out of service.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Negotiating skills to convince managers of the need to implement and maintain quality standards.
  • Patience and diplomacy because the profession requires a collaborative approach.
  • An investigative mind.
  • IT skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • A flexible approach to work.
  • 10 years’ experience of working in laboratory environment.
  • 5 years’ experience managing 17025 accredited laboratories.
  • Understands demands of 17025 accredited laboratories.
  • Technical Understanding of construction testing.

Managing Director, Laboratory Director, Field Services Director, Technical Director, All Managers, All Technical and Administrative Staff.
