Job Title: Quality Manager

Location: Unit 5, New Meadow Road, Redditch. B98 8YW

Salary: £35-£50K based on experience and capabilities

Job Type: 37.5 per week. Monday – Thursday 8:30 – 17:00, Friday 8:30 – 14:00

Due to recent investment and growth, we are looking to expand our team and take on an experienced Quality Manager to help us in these exciting times. Job Role:

Provision of a full-time role with total ownership of managing and developing all aspects of quality within the business. Providing total quality solutions whilst delivering value to TLC and to the customer throughout the entire product lifecycle. The Quality Manager will have proven automotive experience and a keen eye for detail.

This key role involves working with cross functional technical leads to ensure active projects developed are running on time and to budget. The successful candidate will be integral to developing business processes, accreditations and will form part of the Senior Management Team, reporting to the Managing Director.

The candidate is required to have a minimum 5-10 years working in industry at OEM or Tier 1 suppliers, ideally in automotive lighting. Has broad experience with finished electromechanical assembly product delivery and inspection. Can show good knowledge of working with multiple component range for plastic injection moulded, electronic sub-assemblies and secondary processing.

Can evidence with clear understanding of automotive delivery and all industry standards associated with this. Have exposure in low to medium volume manufacturing including emerging technology applications.

Fluent in spoken/written English.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report to the senior management team on all aspects of quality engineering.
  • Ownership of the QMS ISO9001 system documentation and processes for the business, Including BSI audits. Work towards achieving and maintaining IATF 16949 accreditation.
  • Liaison with customers to deliver quality requirements in a timely manner.
  • Ownership of inspection of materials, components/assemblies, processes, and equipment, from a functional, aesthetic and dimensional perspective to ensure quality specifications are met.
  • Ownership of DVP Testing requirements for projects, including liaising with the customer and service providers, creation of timing plans and sample requirement matrices.
  • Lead and develop all aspects of internal and external quality inspection process, including creation of Part Quality Standards (PQS) documents and collation/submission of IMDS information.
  • Responsibility for creation of specific documentation, support and submission of PPAP documentation to customers specifications, obtain and monitor PSW.
  • Ensuring that workflows, processes, and products comply with applicable regulations.
  • Maintain internal measurement equipment, including calibration. Responsible for dimensional measurement of components and assemblies (ISIR’s) to ensure compliance with specifications and to meet customer requirements.
  • Actively assist in the generation of DFMEA & PFMEA documentation.
  • Carry out internal and external supplier audits.
  • Developing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements in accordance with industry recognized methodology.
  • Total control of supplier quality assurance.
  • Chair/attend relevant internal meetings and customer meetings to support requirements.
  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the above.

Required:

  • HNC/HND or Degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience of working in an automotive quality management role.
  • ISO9001 certified auditor.
  • Competent user of MS office packages.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and maintaining QMS to successfully pass relevant audits.
  • Full understanding of injection mold process
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Innovative, hardworking, ambitious and self-motivated.
  • A thorough attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK and abroad.
  • Experience working closely with internal and external customers.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom.
  • Full UK Driving license.

Advantageous:

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or above qualification
  • IATF16949 and other quality standard auditor certifications
  • Minitab/quality software experience
  • Full understanding of electronic sub-assemblies, wiring harnesses, machined parts and secondary processing.
