Job Title: Quantity Surveyor (New Build Housing – Carpentry Contractor)

Location: North London, Hertfordshire

Salary: £50 – £65k (DOE)

Job Type: Full Time (Mon – Fri), Permanent

The Role:

We are seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As the Quantity Surveyor for a new build housing carpentry contractor, you will be responsible for managing costs and ensuring value for money on construction projects. The role will require the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing, submitting, and tracking tender documents, budgets, and bills of quantities.
  • Reviewing and negotiating contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Conducting cost analysis and ensuring that the project is on track financially.
  • Managing project accounts, monitoring progress, and reporting on any cost overruns or potential risks.
  • Ensuring compliance with contractual and statutory requirements.
  • Attending site visits, conducting on-site surveys, and identifying any potential risks or opportunities.
  • Conducting site meetings and liaising with site teams to ensure that projects run smoothly.

Essential Skills and Requirements:

  • Qualified Quantity Surveyor or equivalent construction qualification.
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying.
  • Experience in new build housing carpentry projects is desirable.
  • Able to travel to projects.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant QS software.
