Job Title: Quantity Surveyor / Estimator

Location: Guildford

Salary: £35k – £55k per annum DoE + Company Benefits

Job type: Full Time – Permanent 40 hours

The Landscaping Consultants are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor/ Estimator with experience in landscape construction. We are looking for applicants who can efficiently review incoming enquiries, and prepare, process and submit quotations for residential/commercial landscape contracts with values ranging between £50k and £1.5 million.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantity and other documentation.
  • Analyse clients’ BOQs and technical specifications.
  • Price/forecast the cost of the different materials needed for the project.
  • Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly.
  • Continued monitoring of projects including highlighting and pricing additional work and variations and submitting regular valuations through the construction phase.
  • Procure or agree on the services of contractors and/or subcontractors who work on the construction of the project.
  • Measure and value the work done on-site.
  • Procurement of construction materials.
  • Write detailed reports as required.

The successful candidate will have:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Understanding of contract preparation, procurement procedures and contract administration.
  • Good awareness of tendering and the estimating process.
  • A high level of IT proficiency, particularly within Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent numerical skills.
  • Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy.
  • Able to demonstrate professional communication at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Technical awareness and able to work with some support to deliver all post contract service delivery and to solve problems.
  • Proactive and self-motivated.
