Job Title: Recruitment Officer

Location: Remote, based in the East Midlands

Salary: £28,000 per annum for full-time hours.

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

Total Care Matters is an established residential children’s home provider, with eight homes across the East Midlands supporting children in care between the ages of 8 to 17. We are growing and focused on quality outcomes for young people and ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted results.

The Role:

We have a fantastic opportunity to work as a Recruitment Officer, with some training responsibilities, within our close-knit and friendly HR team. We are looking to appoint someone who we will support and develop as our in-house recruitment expert who is dedicated in helping find the right staff to look after our young people.

In time, the post-holder will be responsible for creating recruitment strategies which will include employer branding, social media attraction, graduate and apprenticeship recruitment. You will be aware of recruitment trends and able to plan ahead and come up with creative ways of attracting candidates.

You will be an excellent communicator and will provide an efficient and effective recruitment service, ensuring compliance with safe recruitment processes.

You will have the responsibility and management of the end-to-end recruitment process and will be accountable for a high-volume vacancy workload. Your role will involve managing the recruitment lifecycle from start to finish, producing engaging job descriptions and adverts, direct sourcing including engaging with passive candidates, telephone interviewing and assessing candidates and building your market knowledge and networks. You will also create offer letters and send out contracts through to ETW/DBS checks and onboarding.

We are looking for a tenacious self-starter, highly organised, who is able to cope well under pressure and work accurately to tight deadlines. You will be reliable, professional and possess strong IT skills with a working knowledge of the full Microsoft office suite.

Experience of in-house or recruitment agency experience is essential. Experience within this sector or a sales background is not essential but would be beneficial.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Responsible for sourcing high calibre candidates, ensuring headcount has been approved prior to recruitment
  • Researching the appropriate use of recruitment channels such as agencies, job boards, social media etc. in line with the recruitment budget
  • Manage and coordinate the selection and assessment processes including cv sifts, ensuring all resourcing processes meet legal requirements and are fair, fit and inclusive
  • Work with managers to ensure a smooth, timely and cost-effective recruitment and selection process
  • Strong initiative and a pro-active approach
  • Experience of using creative sourcing tools including CV databases to expand talent
  • Experience of working to and reporting against KPIs
  • Strong candidate pipeline management skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Flexible and adaptable and able to work in a fast paced and constantly evolving work environment
  • Highly motivated and determined, with the ability to be resilient and confident
  • Maintain up to date knowledge on best practice recruitment and selection techniques with specific attention to ED&I
