About the role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Release Manager to plan, coordinate, and manage the release of software and related projects for Guardian Financial Services.

The Release Manager will work closely with developers, testers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure that releases are delivered on time, with high quality, and with minimal disruption to the business. The ideal candidate will be familiar with cloud technology, especially Azure, and have experience with DevOps techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Some of your key responsibilities within this role would be:

  • Plan and coordinate the release of software and related projects for Guardian Financial Services, including defining the scope, schedule, and resources required
  • Ensure that all release activities are carried out in accordance with established processes and policies, including governance and quality assurance methodology
  • Identify the risks that can delay the release and manage them, such that the scope scheduled, and quality of the release is not affected
  • Create plans for the implementation and deployment as per the release schedule
  • Lead the Go-Live activities to deploy the software successfully

About you:

  • Significant experience in release, change and configuration control
  • High levels of professionalism and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organised in creating and compiling documentation
  • Enjoy what you do – great team ethos
  • Able to grasp new concepts quickly and efficiently
  • A strong logical and troubleshooting mind-set, with excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work remotely with little management supervision.
  • Positive and enthusiastic approach and a strong team ethic
  • Ability to multi-task, be flexible and deal with interruptions and change
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A deep understanding of cloud platforms, open source and SaaS services to better enable and enhance the delivery of quality assurance and testing services.
  • Proven track record of agile change and release management techniques and communicating results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, preferably in an agile, CI/CD environment

Knowledge / Understanding of the following would be advantageous:

  • Understanding and knowledge of DevOps
  • MS Suite of products – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Agile Delivery
  • ITIL Change and Release Management
  • 3+ years of experience in software release management
  • Powershell Scripts
  • Java Script
