The Role

DB Cargo is on an ambitious journey to become Europe’s leading rail logistics provider with a long-term plan to shift traffic from roads, protect our climate and grow the economy.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Resource Delivery Manager (Traincrew) to ensure the efficient and effective diagramming and rostering of traincrew. The post holder will be based in Doncaster, with some flexibility around hybrid working.

General Duties/Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the effective cost efficient roster of Train Crew to ensure resources are allocated in line with the customer order train plan
  • Roster of Train Crew as required
  • Lead the Train Crew roster team managing day to day issues. Sickness and work allocation
  • Continual Review of Base Links to find efficiency and improvements
  • Working closely with the relevant management within the areas to solve resource shortage issues on a day to day week to week basis
  • Lead with review of in-house systems and processes to identify and implement business improvements
  • Attend meetings nationally as required with regular visits to Hubs Nationwide
  • Working closely with the recognized trade union to ensure all agreements are adhered to
  • Support the Resource Control Manager and Head of Resourcing and Control in the effective delivery of the train plan
  • Input into the Business Acceptance Process to identify resources for new business.
  • Act as Deputy when required for the Resource Control Manager
  • Input and lead within area of responsibility into the A for B acceptance process
  • Actively monitor and implement efficiencies to reduce free day working and unused instances

Experience/Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate will have previous experience leading a team in a highly results driven environment.
  • Previous railway experience and/or resource management experience is desirable, but not essential.
  • Previous experience in dealing with Trade unions would also be desirable.
  • A good knowledge of UK rail Geography
  • Previous Project management experience required
  • Good IT Skills and a full UK driving license are essential for this role.
  • Educated to degree level and/or a qualification such as CMI Management and Leadership is desirable.
