Job Title: Sales Executive

Location: Based from our Thurrock depot, covering Essex & London.

Salary: Competitive

Job type: Full Time

The Tool Hire Centre is a one stop shop for all your site equipment and consumable needs. Our core range of equipment is always available for hire or purchase and we aim to sort everything you need with one call to us.

We work hard to supply a huge range of equipment for our customers no matter how unusual, and we stock specialist lifting, survey, welding and pipework products.

The role:

Managing a portfolio of account customers as well as bringing in new business

The Candidate

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to learn and adapt

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure with good time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong problem solver who applies novel techniques to solve issues; challenges long hold beliefs when necessary
  • Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office proficient user
  • Reliable Team player with, who can work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
  • Motivated to excel and perform the role to the best of their ability
  • Confidence to suggest new ideas and listen to customer’s needs
  • Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment

Desirable Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ sales experience
  • Experience with Syrinx is desirable but not essential
  • Background knowledge within Tool Hire or Construction Equipment

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Visit potential customers for new business
  • Generate and convert sales leads and build your client portfolio
  • Manage and grow existing accounts
  • Develop and maintain effective client relationships
  • Provide customers with quotations
  • Negotiate the terms of an agreement and close sales
  • Gather market and customer information and provide feedback on buying trend
  • Represent the organisation at trade exhibitions, events and demonstration
  • Identify new markets and business opportunities
  • Liaise with all transactional teams regarding invoices and credit note queries
  • Ensure complete confidentiality of all accounts and customers
  • Be an active team member and support colleagues in their work
  • Deliver excellent customer service

Additional Requirements:

  • Undertake any other duties as requested by the line manager or appropriate senior manager, commensurate with the grade.
  • This is a professional, demanding role within a complex organisation with an ambitious strategic plan and agenda for change. The role holder will be expected to show flexibility in working arrangements, including working hours, to ensure that they deliver the required level of service
