Our Secretarial support team leader opportunity and culture can deliver just that are looking for an experienced candidate to join them. The team support our field-based Adjuster and Surveyors with reports, claims file updates, telephone enquiries and drive productivity through streamlined and efficient processes. You’ll be involved with a variety of discussions with third parties who have been affected by various perils concerning property damage, so it’s a rewarding role to help support those that need our assistance.

The role will be based at our modern and contemporary Head Office in Kings Hill, West Malling, Kent which has great public transport links and local shops within walking distance.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Manage resource levels across the secretarial support team to ensure adjusters are adequately always supported, including holiday and absence cover.
  • Drive productivity through streamlined and efficient processes, always looking for continuous improvement and involving your team for practical suggestions
  • Implement mechanisms to assess and review quality of work, providing constructive feedback
  • Ensure a consistent and high-level service is provided for telephones calls
  • Harmonise the scope of tasks undertaken by secretaries and review in accordance with business needs
  • Identify and address training/development needs across the secretarial support team.
  • Maintain a motivated and engaged team through encouragement, recognition and support.
  • Keep senior management appraised of any issues.

About you:

You’ll ideally come from an insurance or Loss Adjusting background, but if you’re from a similar industry, such as financial services, and really enjoy delivering exceptional customer services we’d love to hear from you. You’ll also be an experienced Audio typist, able to lead by example and a true team player.

You will also have/ will be:

  • Previous experience of leader a secretarial or administration team with a team focus approach
  • The ability to coordinate a varying workload for your team within a multi sited environment
  • Strong decision-making skills and positive approach to problem-solving
  • Be proactive in your approach, acting pragmatically and with logic
  • Enjoy working to targets and gaining satisfaction on achieving your key performance indicators and service levels agreements
  • Comfortable in working on your own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Have great communication skills and happy to provide information when it’s needed most
  • Detail orientated
