Job Title: Senior Consultant, Nature & Biodiversity

Location: Oxford (London or hybrid) (UK-based remote working will also be considered)

Salary: £35-£50k

3Keel is a firm of sustainability advisors who specialise in working with food systems, supply chains and landscapes and was founded in 2013.

About you…

3Keel are looking for an experienced Senior Consultant to join our team and work across a variety of projects within our emerging Nature & Biodiversity practice area. Working to support companies in adopting rigorous strategies towards a nature positive future, this area is rapidly evolving, so you will have the ability and desire to learn quickly, transfer existing knowledge to new situations, and think creatively. The ideal candidate will be a multi-skilled sustainability professional with a broad understanding of nature in corporate and policy contexts as well as relevant technical knowledge and skills.

Experience in overlapping topic areas is highly valued e.g. supply chain analysis. You should have the ability to confidently lead client engagement, manage projects, and motivate and support team members to deliver high quality work creating value and impact for clients.

The important stuff (essential requirements):

  • Self-starter with adaptability and ability to learn about rapidly evolving areas of work.
  • Technical understanding and policy knowledge of nature/biodiversity in a business context.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Experience of leading project teams, planning and delivering high quality outcomes within agreed budget and timescales.
  • Ability to acquire and digest complex qualitative and quantitative information from multiple sources to distil clear strategic insights for clients.
  • Corporate environmental strategy experience.
  • Ability to engage successfully with clients at all levels of seniority to develop trusted working relationships, instil confidence and deliver impactful results that meet business needs.
  • Business development and proposal-writing experience, with a track record in winning new work.
  • Experience of working with data, with proven experience presenting complex analyses and data thoughtfully and effectively.
  • Clear and engaging writing style, excellent verbal communication and the ability to present complex information in a client-friendly way.
  • Organised and systematic approach to work.
  • Willingness and ability to work across other practice areas outside of nature as necessary.

Other stuff (desirable skills):

  • Line management experience.
  • Academic background to degree or master’s level in a relevant subject area.
  • Technical expertise in corporate metrics and standards on nature and biodiversity (e.g., SBTN, TNFD, natural capital).
  • Experience with data management / analysis.
  • Experience in one or more of climate change, sustainable supply chains, nature restoration, ecological assessment, water resources, or other relevant topic area.
