Job Title: Hotel Operations Manager

Location: Llangollen

Salary: Up to £36k + £2k Bonus & Tips (OTE £40k)

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time (45 hours per week)

The hotel has 46 bedrooms & suites with Spa and Hydrotherapy pool facilities. Combining the traditional charm and attractive original features of a 19th-century building with the contemporary chic of extensive and luxurious spa facilities. Set in the tranquil, naturally beautiful, surroundings of gently rolling pasture land in the Vale of Llangollen, the hotel has a superb location. Chester, Wrexham and Shrewsbury are all within easy reach and Liverpool and Manchester are both just an hour’s drive away.

About the role:

This job is not for the faint hearted, you need to be highly competent and motivated. Happy to smash every task there is in running an amazing hotel efficiently and to the highest standard. Must have managerial experience in a 4-star hotel or equivalent. Maximum 45 hour per week, if you are asked to work more you will be paid.

Job Responsibilities:

Compliance:

  • Oversee compliance with health, safety, and legal regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to recruitment policies and quality standards.
  • Provide training and performance management for staff.

Leadership:

  • Foster teamwork and effective communication.
  • Coordinate with other departments for seamless service.
  • Conduct regular meetings and training sessions.

Business Involvement:

  • Assist in budget planning and monitoring.
  • Manage departmental expenses while maximizing revenues.
  • Encourage customer feedback and engagement.
  • Promote sustainability initiatives.

Additional Duties:

  • Support hotel-wide objectives.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to company policies.

Note: Employees will be assigned other duties as needed.

About you:

  • Minimum 1-year managerial experience in a 4-star hotel or equivalent.
  • Hold a proven track record and able to demonstrate stability & success in previous account management/operations roles
  • The ability to communicate both written and verbally in a professional and clear manner to colleagues and customers alike.
  • A proven track record in managing a team. Deputising in the absence of the General and Deputy manager.
  • Ability to develop and manage all departments (Spa, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage and Front Office) using Everbright Standard Operating Procedures.
  • The ability to understand, manage and operate the hotels Risk-Management platform.
  • The ability to manage costs, productivity and profitability whilst maintaining set standards.
  • Demonstrate effective administration skills.
  • To understand and use the employee training platform: Flow Training.
  • Ability to manage challenging situations / conflict in a calm and effective manner.
  • Ability to uphold policies, procedures and code of conduct as provided by the company.
  • Ability to train and coach team members to their full potential.
  • The ability to correct and manage underperformance, where observed, through the adoption of a progressive, disciplined approach. (i.e. Lateness, absenteeism, poor performance) following Everbright Hotel Groups Handbook guidance.
  • The ability to manage conflict to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Ability to solve problems and effective decision making.
  • Ability to communicate expectations to the team and to communicate with all staff members and customers alike in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
