We are looking for a Senior Fire Safety Inspector to join Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service and help deliver and develop our fire protection objectives across the county.

Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service is an ambitious organisation that is committed to making Norfolk a safer place. We work at the heart of community safety and protection, providing a robust and resilient emergency response service and ensuring efficient support to enable delivery of our emergency response.

Our Community Fire Protection Team plays a vital role in keeping the communities of Norfolk safe. We provide fire safety advice to businesses, local authorities, commerce, the public, and to professional and regulatory bodies. We ensure compliance with legal requirements, and aim to educate and inform, in turn reducing risk, and preventing incidents before they occur.

Operating at a senior level, the core focus of this role will be to enforce fire safety legislation and consult with Building Control Applications in non-domestic properties across Norfolk. You’ll be working in a range of different environments, including simple, complex and fire-engineered buildings, and will need to investigate and assess thoroughly and deliver detailed reports detailing outcomes. You’ll work closely with colleagues as well as with members of the public and businesses, with the overall objective of keeping people and properties safe from fire risks.

To be considered for the role, you’ll need to hold a Fire Safety Level 4 Diploma (or equivalent), as well as Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths. You’ll need substantial experience of undertaking fire risk inspections, along with fire safety enforcement experience. In addition, you’ll need strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with members of the public.

We think it’s a great opportunity to undertake a role that will have a positive impact across the service, which in turn will benefit the whole county of Norfolk, so if you are interested then we would love to hear from you.
