Job Title: Senior Health Care Assistant – Nights

Location: Brighton

Salary: £9.25/hour (weekdays), £9.65/hour (weekends)

Job type: Full-time – Permanent.

Lime Tree House is a privately-run residential care home looking for someone with a genuine interest in working within a caring environment to become our Senior Healthcare Assistant for the NIGHT shift. There is currently one role available.

The Role:

  • Support management by assisting, directing and advising staff to ensure the appropriate care needs for residents are met on an individual basis
  • Be passionate about providing a high standard of care, helping to maintain service users’ physical wellbeing, appearance, rooms and their environment during the evening, night-time and early morning
  • Pay attention to the service users’ surroundings and be willing to assist in making them as comfortable as possible
  • Dedicate yourself to providing the highest standard of care to our service users in a way that respects their dignity and promotes independence
  • Show empathy towards service users and take an active role in planning, implementing and evaluating their individual care needs on an on-going basis

Job Description:

  • To help in the promotion of mental and physical wellbeing of service users by spending time with and talking to them, sharing with them in activities, hobbies and recreations.
  • To ensure high standards of record keeping, all documentation to do with care plans should be up to date
  • To assist in the management of staff, delegating duties where appropriate and maintaining effective communication within the care team
  • To ensure that all carers in your group, fulfill their duties as a key worker and meet all requirements of their job satisfaction.
  • Report immediately to the management any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Service Users, colleague, self or another.
  • Understand and ensure the implementation of the Care Centre’s Health and Safety policy, and Emergency and Fire procedures.
  • Report to the management any faulty appliances, damaged furniture, equipment or any potential hazard.
  • Must have a willingness to participate in vocational training programmes
  • To answer call bells, emergency bells, the door and the telephone when necessary, greeting and welcoming visitors and third-party providers appropriately
  • To adhere to the policy relating to personal appearance and the uniform policy whilst on duty.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Must have achieved NVQ 2 minimum
  • Ability to administer medication including controlled drugs and PR medication
  • Previous experience of working in a Team Lead/ Management position within a care setting
  • Evidence of having undertaken relevant training (i.e. moving & handling, health & safety, food hygiene, etc.)
  • Satisfactory DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check and Adult First
  • Must work within the scope of the Data Protection Act 1998 and adherence to all Data Protection Legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
  • Must work within the guidelines of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, Employee Handbook, Company Policy and Procedure for Infection Control and Company Health and Safety Policy and Procedure, to be aware of all fire exit means of escape from the Home

Please note: Full vaccination is required to work in the homes as per the Health & Social Act.
