Salary: Up to £28,000.00 depending on experience

Who are we?

Founded in 2002 Oldham Credit union (OCU) is a not for profit, democratic financial co-operative owned and run by its members.

Our mission is to provide access to fair financial services which promote greater financial inclusion and make a key contribution to the economic well-being of the Oldham Community.

We currently have over 5000 members holding £1.7M in savings and over £1.2M out on loan.

We are looking to build on these strong foundations and improve and grow the organisation. It is therefore a really exciting time to join us as we introduce a new role of Senior Member Services Officer (Operations) with specific responsibility for the operational processes within the credit union.

About the Role:

Oldham Credit Union are looking for a Senior Member Services Officer.

To work with the CEO to ensure the day-to-day operations of the credit union are maintained effectively and high levels of customer service are delivered.

The role includes (but is not limited to):

  • Day to day management of member enquiries
  • Day to Day supervision and support of Member Service Officers ensuring a high level of customer service
  • Implementation of Operational procedures and policies as directed by the CEO and Board of Oldham Credit Union
  • Documentation and updating of all operational procedures
  • Implementation and administration of the credit union Loan Policy as directed by the CEO and Board of Oldham Credit Union
  • Responsibility for organising and maintaining staff training
  • Assisting the CEO with the development of operational procedures (and policies)
  • Other duties in support of the team and general operations of the credit union as may be directed from time to time

About you:

We are looking for the following Essential criteria:

  • Experience of using IT systems and applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) including website and social media
  • Evidence of commitment to your own personal and professional development
  • Team player, resourceful and highly motivated
  • Excellent communication skills to build relationships with a range of stakeholders including members, colleagues and third – party agencies
  • Able to manage diverse workload, highly organised, self – motivated and flexible
  • Ability to lead / manage staff teams
  • Ability to assist in the training and development of others as and when required, including the ability to identify your own and your team’s training needs and discuss these with your Line Manager
  • Commitment to the overall aims and purpose of the credit union

We are looking for the following Desirable criteria:

  • Experience of working in a financial / customer service setting
  • Good working knowledge of the key software systems and digital applications which include (but are not limited to): the Credit Union’s CRM system; the Credit Union’s customer interaction mobile app (currently Nivo); accounting software
  • Experience / Knowledge of Loan assessment and underwriting
  • Experience of developing office systems and controls
