Mabbett is an environmental, engineering and safety consultancy established in 1996 in Glasgow. Since then the firm has grown to employ over 110 motivated engineers, scientists and supporting professionals across the U.K. We have regional offices in Anglesey, Belfast, Caerphilly, Carlisle, Dublin, Dundee, Edinburgh, Forres, Glasgow, Inverness, Leicester, Liverpool and Winchester. The firm is seeking to recruit Senior and Principal Environmental Consultants to join our growing team, with the potential to base yourself at any of our U.K. offices.
Both office and home working options will be available. You will be provided with all IT equipment and software/services required to facilitate your efficient working. We are a flexible employer and are willing to consider any arrangement that is desirable to you.

About you:
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will posses an Honours or Masters Degree in Chemical, Process, Mechanical, Civil or Environmental Engineering, the physical sciences, or similar, and have a have a full U.K. driving licence with clean driver record. Professional chartership(s) would be viewed favourably.
Experience
The ideal candidate will have experience with regards to one or more of the following areas/disciplines, preferably in a consultancy role:
- Environmental permit (e.g. Industrial Emissions Directive, via PPC/EPR/IPC, MCPD, UK ETS) applications and variations
- Regulatory liaison and negotiation e.g. SEPA, EA, NIEA, NRW, EPA
- Environmental impact assessment using appropriate tools e.g. D1 Calculations, H1 Software Tool, SCAIL, ADMS
- Best available technique (BAT) review of plant, equipment and processes
The successful candidate will coordinate the delivery of environmental permitting projects across the UK, calling upon our internal team of multi-disciplinary engineers, scientists and consultants. Marketing and business development of relevant projects, proposal preparation and budgeting, and mentoring of less experienced colleagues, as well as technical report preparation will all be key facets of the role.
