Job Title: Senior Sales Order Processing Executive – Manufacturing

Location: Preston

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum dependant on experience

Job type: Permanent, Full-Time

Working Hours: 40 Hours per week (Monday to Friday)

We are excited to be working with a dynamic and rapidly growing family-owned business in Preston to recruit a sales order processing executive to work within our established team. Gafoor is a key player in their sector operating on a national basis, supplying poultry products to a range of both leading blue chip manufacturers and local retailers.

In order to be considered for this role you will need to have had relevant prior experience in a similar manufacturing business.

The Role:

In this role you will be responsibility for liaising with a wide range of customers to process sales orders and oversee the sales order processing function, including the line management of two direct reports.

You will deliver seamless and outstanding customer service to support with new customer enquiries, existing orders and follow up new opportunities. You will also undertake all routine administrative duties linked to sales order processing. You will need to be an approachable and confident individual who is able to quickly and effectively establish and maintain customer relationships in order to help increase sales and contribute to the success of the business. It is also essential to have a keen eye of detail and excellent numerical work.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Sales order processing.
  • Liaise with current customers directly (via telephone and email) providing excellent customer service at all times.
  • Meeting daily targets for processing sales orders.
  • Processing credits and adjustments as required.
  • Handle speculative customer calls and respond to queries via phone and email.
  • Work in accordance with the company’s quality management system and in particular to follow any quality assurance work instructions applicable to the role.
  • Ensure all records, systems and paperwork are kept up-to-date.
  • Communicate with the wider sales team, logistics, operations & technical teams to ensure the customers’ orders are fulfilled to the right specification, on-time, in-full.
  • Working with the Operations team and communicating any issues to customers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Liaise with the sales director and managing directors on day-to-day matters.
  • Analyse data to produce reports as required.
  • Support the development of new IT systems and business processes.
  • Assist with updating production plans and responding to changes.
  • Signposting and passing through non sales enquiries to the relevant department.
  • Assist in the arrangement of despatch documentation.
  • Assist with after-sales queries including order tracking or issues including shortages.

The Candidate:

  • Excellent communication skills and professional telephone manner.
  • Self-motivated and driven with a collaborative and strong team ethic.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Mentoring and day to day line management of 2 trainees within the sales team.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft I.T packages.
  • Experience of working in a similar role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Commercial awareness, with the ability to negotiate and think on your feet to respond and resolve customer queries.
  • Able to work and find solutions under pressure.
  • Able to juggle multiple priorities.
