Salary: £27,116 – £32,344 per year.

Job type: Permanent, Full time.

The Role:

The School of Psychology and Sport Science is a leading provider of quality education in Psychology, Sport, Vision and Hearing Science education in the UK and has been at the forefront in the development of innovative courses in these areas. The school is home to the top ranked (No 1) Sport and Exercise Sciences courses in the UK (The Guardian University League Tables 2020-21) and is a leading provider of quality education in Psychology, Optometry, Ophthalmic Dispensing & Audiology. Located in the Faculty of Science and Engineering on our Cambridge campus. We are forward-looking and enthusiastic, with a vision that combines commitment to a strong and active research culture with excellence in learning and teaching.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated technician to join our school technician team and work across the entire school with academic staff and students, supporting teaching and research across our three disciplines: psychology, sport and exercise sciences, and vision and hearing sciences. You’ll maintain and demonstrate laboratory facilities and equipment, develop and manage booking systems, and support students and staff in practical classes and research projects.

Candidate Requirements:

You will have a degree in a relevant science (such as Sport and Exercise Science, Psychology, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Biology), with relevant work experience in a technical or research role providing support to Undergraduate level or equivalent. You will have experience in IT systems, running lab-based behavioural research with human participants, and technical support of specialist research equipment. Applicants with experience of Statistics are particularly welcome.
