Job Title: Service Coordinator

Location: West Norwood, London

Salary: £31,891 per annum Band E1, rising to £33,220 Band E2, in Year 2.

Job type: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week

The role:

To lead and manage one of three groups in L’Arche London, comprising of a range of services for people with learning disabilities and its team of assistants. To create community and lead the service delivery within this group in line with L’Arche values, standards and the requirements of the Care Quality Commission [CQC]. To play an active role in the leadership of L’Arche London, helping shape its future direction as a faith-based community provider of services to people with learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Ensure the provision of high-quality personalised support to each person with learning disabilities in line with L’Arche values and standards and the requirements of CQC, and as set out in the
  • Person Centred Plans and Care Manager’s care plan of the individuals concerned.
  • Ensure circles of support are established and maintained.
  • Assess and review the needs of each person with learning disabilities and plan service delivery accordingly. Take part in reviews and case conferences of each person with learning disabilities where appropriate.
  • Ensure each person with learning disabilities has an individual support plan and monitor the implementation of that plan.
  • Ensure an up-to-date risk assessment is in place for each person.
  • Ensure each person is supported to draw up and review their Person-Centred Plan to help ensure all outcomes in the plan are met.
  • Foster an attitude of respect which encourages autonomy, maximises independence and individual choice.
  • Ensure each individual, in accordance with their ability, personally undertakes all the activities associated with their life with support offered as needed for those choosing to share with others, these tasks may be set up on a rota basis with everyone taking turns.

The Candidate:

  • Experience of leading a team – preferably one which has developed person centred support for people with disabilities. Management experience including people, budgets and HR procedures. Knowledge of CQC and adult protection procedures. Experience of inspiring and motivating teams to make improvements.
  • Outstanding IT, communication and presentation skills, both written and oral, able to present information effectively in and outside of L’Arche. Ability to lead, inspire and motivate a team that has a challenging and stretching role. Evidence of the ability to work flexibly to allow the strengths of other to be utilised.
  • QCF (previously NVQ) Level 4 or above – Health and Social Care or equivalent, or the proven ability and equivalent service. Evidence of continuing professional development
