Job Title: Shift Manager

We are an ethical and fast-growing company, and an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced supervisor who knows what it takes to manage drivers in a fast-paced, multi-drop environment to join our team of exceptional people. You must have experience in early morning work as your start time is 4am.
The role is based at our Main Depot in Purfleet RM15 4YA.
About the role:
As our Shift Manager you will be responsible for today. You will deal with any issues that arise on the road and monitor our crews. You will work with our Helpdesk team for any customer queries that come in, to resolve as quickly and efficiently as possible. Your main priority is to ensure the work that is scheduled for today, is completed without any major issues. We aim to provide the best possible service for our clients.
Other Key Responsibilities include:
- Line management of your shift, being responsible for driver conduct and performance
- Ensuring driver compliance with walk around checks and repairing minor defects
- Monitoring driving standards
- Managing staff absence
Ideally your shift pattern will be 4 on 4 off meaning you will work 4 days a week, of 12 hours, 4am to 4pm, which includes weekends and bank holiday days. You will start on a Monday – Friday shift until we are ready for your shift to change.
Requirements:
- At least a B class license (higher wage bracket for those with a C class)
- Own car or own means to get to work
- Live within 1 hour’s drive of Purfleet RM15
- Ability to think independently
- Experience with early morning starts
