The role

We are looking for a Social Media and Content Manager to develop our social media strategy to support marketing campaign objectives and increase the impact and reach of our digital communications.

The role will give the right candidate the opportunity to build the company social media brand and engage online communities through storytelling.

Purpose:

The Social Media and Content Manager will inspire our audiences to engage with and support the work of techUK and our members driving ever deeper engagement with our work.

In support of the strategy you will help produce engaging and informative social content including videos, animations, and graphics, collaborating closely with colleagues to create this content, adhering to our brand guidelines and tone of voice.

The Social Media and Content Manager will have overall ownership and responsibility for our social media channels – LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube – where you will support the business in developing relationships with our audiences. You will monitor and evaluate the ongoing success of the social strategy with regular reporting back to the team.

You will drive collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the business to consult, develop and implement an on-brand content strategy and calendar; ensuring all is delivered on time and within budget.

This is a new role reporting into our Head of Brand and Campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a social media engagement strategy.
  • Working alongside our Head of Brand and Campaigns you will develop a strategy to grow measurable engagement with our audiences on social media with clear aims and KPIs for success. In executing the strategy you will work with colleagues to develop engaging, timely, and targeted content.
  • You will be proactive in looking for opportunities throughout the year that help us to maximise our engagement with our core topics and communicate the value of our, and our members’, work.
  • You will support our core campaigns, flagship events, and other high profile activities, working with colleagues to develop appropriate strategies.

Key Competencies:

  • Comprehensive understanding of B2B social media (LinkedIn/Twitter).
  • Background in content marketing and social media engagement.
  • Used to working with multiple stakeholders on a broad range of projects concurrently.
  • A team player, who enjoys both working collaboratively and owning your piece of the puzzle.
  • A proactive mindset to support the wider team and make recommendations as appropriate.
  • A curiosity about how you can innovate across our social channels.
  • A strong attention to detail – you strive to deliver high quality and engaging content.
  • Approachable, personable, and passionate about your role.
  • Possess the ability to work well under pressure and to be able to work well within a team environment and on own initiative.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

Person Specification:

Essential Knowledge and Experience:

  • Recent experience within a B2B social media focused role.
  • Experience managing Twitter and LinkedIn channels for organisations and managing social strategies
  • Use of social media scheduling tools including reporting, metrics and conversion rates.
  • Experience creating branded assets for social media and presentations (PowerPoint)
  • Creating and delivering content management plans and managing a brand identity across multiple channels
  • Experience of building relationships with stakeholders including communicating and collaborating across teams and functions.

Desired Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience and familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud software
  • Experience with Hootsuite.
  • YouTube channel familiarity for uploading and ongoing curation of channel to promote content and drive growth.
  • YouTube Data Studio analytics experience to provide regular reporting and data-driven analytics for ongoing improvements.
  • Familiarity with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) /CMS systems (Microsoft Dynamics would be an advantage).
  • Photography and image editing experience.

This is a full-time role based out of techUK’s London offices with flexibility for hybrid working.
