Job Title: Stores Assistant
Location: Billingshurst, West Sussex, RH14 9EZ
Salary: £24,000 per annum plus bonus
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
BPH is an independently-owned plant hire company based in the South East. From excavators and dozers, to dumpers and telehandlers, we’ve been supplying a huge variety of heavy machinery for hire to the construction industry for over 50 years.
Key Duties:
- Management of Goods in: ensures delivery and paperwork are aligned, checks stock for physical damage upon delivery, booking in IT systems and putting goods away
- Assist moving heavy loads, loading and unloading trucks with forklift
- Support periodic stock takes
- Packing and arranging shipment to customers
- Issuing stock to support internal customers
- Organises the return of faulty goods and recording any associated details within the stock control system
- Ensures stores are neat and tidy
- Review and actions stock outs
- Allocating materials to workshop as required
- Picking goods from shelves and recording their movements
- Management of stock settings and parameters on IT systems
- Management of stock transfer between various depots
- Replenishment of local workshop stores
About you:
- Forklift Licence (Essential)
- Excellent Organisational Skills
- Good communications skills, ability to deal with external suppliers and internal teams
- Manual handling is required for this role, so you must be fit and health
- Able to work as part of a team but also to work alone
- Self-motivated and able to adapt to changing priorities
- Confident and logical under pressure but must understand urgency and respond accordingly
- Must be able to demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills
- Basic IT skills and a working knowledge of inventory management systems
- Excellent time management skills and strong work ethic
