Job Title: Stores Manager

Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 p/a.

Job type: Permanent, Full time 40 hours per week – some evening and weekend work may be required

About us:

We work with some World-famous brands, the majority of which are in the Motorsport industry however, we also supply products into the Aerospace, MOD and Marine industries so as you can imagine quality is of the utmost importance. We have a specially kitted out workshop, one that you would be proud to work in which is located conveniently just on the outskirts of Milton Keynes centre. We are recruiting for lots of new team members due to huge growth within our order books.

Job Purpose:

To ensure the smooth running of the Stores department including stock control, troubleshooting any discrepancies, and ensuring work is scheduled accordingly.

The Job

As Stores Manager, you will report to the Supply Chain Senior Manager, and be responsible for organising your team to ensure deadlines are met for internal and external customers. You will also be expected to manage stock counts, stores KPIs and performance within the team.

Main Duties:

  • Responsible for the Stores function within ATL; managing stock control, troubleshooting any discrepancies and ensuring work is scheduled accordingly to meet deadlines required for despatch.
  • Organise and monitor of rolling stock takes, weekly KPI checks and ensuring procedures are in place and followed to obtain an efficient and accurate count for the auditors.
  • Continually monitoring and assessing all department procedures and propose updates.
  • Carry out general departmental HR duties, and direct any higher-level issues to the HR department.
  • Organise stock take at year end and ensure procedures are in place and followed to obtain an efficient and accurate count for the auditors.
  • Aid the Stores staff in general day-to-day duties.
  • Ensure customer free-issue stock is managed.
  • Attending production meetings as and when required.
  • Awareness of shortages and escalation where required.
  • Conducting spot checks within stores department.
  • Use environmentally sustainable practices in accordance with our environmental policy.
  • Seek ways to reduce waste and energy usage in accordance with our environmental objectives.

The Person and Skills Required:

Qualifications:

  • No specific qualifications are required to succeed within this role.
  • Previous experience within this environment an advantage.

Experience

  • Experience with managing a small team in a previous role.
  • Relevant stores experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong people management skills.
  • Attention to detail essential.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and delegate effectively.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels.
  • Good IT Skills.
  • Manufacturing knowledge is desirable but not essential.
