Job Title: Supply Chain Graduate

Location: High Post, Salisbury

Salary: £25,000-£26,000

Job Type: This role will be worked over a 4.5 day week; Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 16:45 and Friday 08:00 – 12:30. Flexibility in this role is critical to the success of supporting the team.

About the role:

The Supply Chain Graduate will be required to establish and control the production plans for specific production areas, ensuring that the plan is maintained in line with the Sales and production plans and relevant capacities. To learn and understand MRP system concepts, outputs and planning procedures. Become familiar with inventory management tools and analysis. Assist in and learn about ongoing planning projects.

The responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):

  • Generate and maintain department specific Production Schedules. Liaise with the relevant production departments to ensure that capacity constraints and batching controls are considered in the creation of these plans.
  • Learn and interpret MRP procedures to enable accurate judgements to be made on MRP order recommendations, assisting all departments (purchasing, operations) in problem solving and understanding requirements.
  • Gain experience in inventory and stores activity generating reports on inventory forecasting and OBSO/SMI
  • Participate in the preparation and administration of 6 monthly site wide stock takes including post count analysis
  • Run reports and update weekly metrics. Analyse content to gain understanding of problem areas and performance. Provide weekly status to team.
  • Assist Buyers in supplier reviews and meetings and provide demand forecasting data to key suppliers
  • Learn the P2P process steps and develop a robust system of reporting metric KPI data into a weekly dashboard, and cascade of open issues to team.
  • Learn the governance aspects of procurement and risk avoidance processes associated with them
  • Manage the Engineering change validation process from ECO to supplier and optimize the implementation impact on demand timing and obsolescence.
  • Understand commercial aspects of Procurement and impact on cost of sales and the contract management techniques to mitigate cost variation.

About you:

  • Working knowledge of MRP & associated planning, scheduling & purchase routines
  • Learn the group Policy and procedure via CCP training modules
  • Experience of computerized inventory management & purchase systems and up to date methodology.
  • IT Skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to understand technical drawings and component criteria
  • Degree in Maths, Science or Humanities
