Are you looking for your way to make a difference?

Are looking to start in a new role and get that love for work back? then this could be the place for you!

United Response is looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our busy supported living service in Batheaston as a Support Worker on a part time basis.

The service

Come and support two young men to do all the things they love to do, as well as those they need to do! Being in their twenties life is all about fun! From days out to meeting friends at weekly clubs, dates with their girlfriends, baking cakes and plenty of hot chocolate along the way.

Understandably they need a bit more prompting with the cleaning and the practicalities of daily living! This is a great service to work at, where building relationships is key and the rewards are much more than most other jobs.

You:

You’ll be glad to know that experience is by no means essential, we are more interested in finding people with the right values and a determination to positively impact the lives of others. If you can combine enthusiasm, a willingness to learn and the ability to work as a team you are good to go! You will need an understanding of Autism to help you grasp some of the foundations of good support here.

The Job:

The role of Support Worker is massively rewarding and varied but you can expect to:

  • Provide active support
  • Encourage the people we support to be as independent as possible
  • Accompany the people we support in the community
  • Maintain a fun and person-centred environment
  • Assist with jobs around the house
  • Help manage and plan routines

Pay and Benefits:

On top of the opportunity to be part of a leading national disability charity and fantastic training opportunities, you will receive:

  • £9.80 per hour
  • Sleep in rate £59.89
  • 20 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays (increases after 3 and 5 years’ service)
  • Pension contribution
  • Access to free occupational health, physiotherapy, counselling and advice services
  • Fully paid training and access to nationally recognised qualifications
  • Travel to work scheme (season ticket loan)
  • Access to an online shopping platform with discounts from over 3,500 retailers
  • This position is subject to an enhanced DBS Check, the cost to be met by United Response. As part of the fight back against Covid 19, all our front line staff are tested regularly and are encouraged to take the vaccine as soon as they are able”

Please note this role will involve elements of evening, weekend and bank holiday work so flexibility is essential and the successful applicant will be subject to a full DBS check.
